The R also failed to wear a WH.

I didn't see an umpire- maybe the WH went down, which is what A20 should have done.

Looks like it was 3d and 6 at the 50.  So after ball became dead @25 and then we had a dead ball delay of game foul on Team A, brings up 4th and 36 at the 20.

Why dead at 25? I see a backward pass which is recovered by B for a TD.

Looked again, and I disagree. At no point does the runner appear controlled by the defender - he has his feet and is still trying to get away. I have a TD here.

I looked again MANY times,.  I am still ruling forward progress.  The kid was going that way only because he was being driven that way and was just not willing to let them take him to the ground.  To rule otherwise is to say that he was running and carrying the defenders.  That is not what happened here.

HUH?  He was running that way before they caught him???  He wasn't running and carrying defenders?  The kid was draped off him for forever and he was still chugging along, suppose the direction he was running was the right way, would you still say he's not carrying runners??  I don't think so.

You are looking for a way to bail this kid out of his bad choice and I don't think its there either.

Players are frequently running the "wrong" direction when they are trying to circle wide.  That does not mean that once they starrted that way they lose their access to "forward progress" provisions.  Once they are held and the force of the contact is deemed to now be adding to their momentum, the play is over.

I think that one provision for earning the right to forward progress is actually at some point try to go forward. This kid didn't do that. I still have a TD.

So...a punt returner is running back towards his goal line to field a punt and catches it at the 20.  He keeps running that direction and is contacted at the 15 and brought down at the 10.  You are spotting the ball at the 10????

I'm kinda leaning that way, myself. The problem here is complicated by the camera angle (ain't it always so), and from our point of view, complicated by the fact that none of the officials were fit enough to even be remotely near the play ... and the video ends before any signals are given (but nobody seems to be spotting the ball.)

I think the lack of official mobility exhibited here is greatly concerning.

It's an option in televised games (only) that the crew may wear position plackets.
