Title: Touchdown off blocked PAT
Post by: Aussie-Zebra on September 13, 2010, 03:34:29 PM
I thought I knew this one

If Team A's kick for a PAT is blocked and Team B picks it up and returns it for a TD

Does
1. Team B scores 1 point - they only get the score that team A was going for
or
2. Team B scores 2 points for a touchdown ?

It's #2. Team B scores 2 points for a touchdown (on the try).

RULE 8 / Scoring / SECTION 1. Value of Scores
  Scoring Plays
ARTICLE 1. The point value of scoring plays shall be:
       Touchdown — 6 Points
       Field Goal — 3 Points
Safety (points awarded to opponent) — 2 Points
Successful Try:  Touchdown — 2 Points
Field Goal or Safety — 1 Point
