Quick question. I think i know the answer but was told different
A 2nd and 20 @A20. A completes pass to A9 for 10 yds. before pass, 5 yd Facemask foul by B.
how do you enforce this?

Q: Who fouled? A: B
Q:When did it happen? A: Before a legal fwd pass
Q: what kind of play do we have? A: Loose ball (10-3-1 note tells us that "runs that precede a legal or illegal kick, legal fwd pass, backward pass or fumble are considered part of a loose ball play")
Q: What is the basic spot for loose ball plays? A: The previous spot
So, I would argue that A would have to take the result of the play OR the 5 yd face mask walk off from the previous spot. Refer to Case book plays 10.4.2 sit B,C,D

Doesn't face mask fouls have special enforcement rules. Basically face mask fouls are tacked on to the end of a run.
In this case A would loose yardage if they accepted the foul.

So they would (probably) decline. It's called an "option".

What Curious said is exactly what i thought when it happened but teh WH went with the first respone by jason. I gave my thought on it but was told i was wrong, then just to double check i asked someone else and he agreed with WH. I was actualyl down onself for gettin this wrong, wel thinking it was wrong
