The interviews with the parents highlighted that it's not fair to punish the kids.  While I agree, don't blame the executive board, blame the coaches.  I know they are a team, but maybe they could draft the kids to other teams and give them a chance at post season.  Ban all the coaches and parents involved in the fight from coming within a mile of the fields >:(.  Probably not a great idea, but just a thought. :)

were the coaches not fired??  IMHO you let the teams play, IF and ONLY IF they have ALL new coaching staffs (which they quite obviously need anyway).  Give the kids new coaches and let them play, after all, they did nothing wrong.  LIFETIME league bans for the "coaches".

There is a "Teaching Moment" here.  Very much like life, football is a team sport where EVERY team member is both responsible to, and to varying degrees, dependent on every OTHER team member, sadly in this instance even stupid adults.  When ONE team member decides to act stupid and behave badly, the consequences may well affect every OTHER team member, regardless of whether they were involved or had anything to do with the bad behavior.

Sometimes life just isn't fair, which is the chief reason why we're supposed to keep an eye on each other and STOP a teammate from behaving badly.  There's no question who was wrong in this situation, and they should be soundly punished for their actions.  This should, however, serve as  a lesson of what can happen when emotions are allowed to take control, and how much unnecessary damage it might cause to others, that should provide a long lasting warning to these players that may serve them well in the long run.

Ahh pee wee ball. I only had one coach ejection out of tiny kid ball in umpteen years.

I kicked the coach out of a game for dropping f-bombs in the middle of a game.

He was screaming obscenities at his own players loud enough that my dead grandmother could hear.

I had one.  We had a two man crew, so we were working the sidelines.  Trying to get the ball in, my partner (my 15 year-old nephew) moved to the middle of the field and I was to toss the ball to him.  The coach was standing right there and when Ryan said "Coach, can you move back?"  The coach turned and said "If you hit me with that ball, I'll whip your as%."

He was gone for the rest of the season.

I gave up Pee Wee after last season.  Don't miss it...kinda miss the cash, but not enough to want to go back.  It lost it's luster when a coach threw a ball at me as hard as he could.  I threw him out and the league administrators didn't back me up by making him leave the stadium...so my partner and I left the game at halftime since our safety could not be ensured.  They finished with 2 refs.
