Is the try mandatory after a winning TD in overtime ? Rule reference, please.

8-3-2a seems to say so:
The ball shall be put in play by the team that scored a six-point touchdown. If a touchdown is scored during a down in which time in the fourth period expires, the try shall not be attempted unless the point(s) would affect the outcome of the game.
But I also think some common sense should prevail. If B is not within two points, I would think the try would be treated just like the time expiring in the 4th period.

Of course not! When you say "winning TD" you are implying that team B has scored and has in effect "won" the game.
Here's the AR...3-1-3-II.
Other than on the try, Team B scores a touchdown after intercepting
a forward pass, or intercepting or recovering a backward pass or
fumble. RULING: Period and game are ended, and Team B is the
winner.

If you are tied in overtime and team B scores game over as there is no other way that A can score 6 points to tie.

of course common sense, but I was looking for a clear rule statement about try after winning TD in a OT. It was there last year, but no more...
