Coincidentally to an earlier post today: (see: http://www.refstripes.com/forum/index.php?topic=7401.0 ) this happened last night in the TV game.

I'd say the guys in the earlier clip made the better call.

F was looking right at it.
The talking heads as usual did not really have a clue.

Not sure if the F was blocked out from #1 red blocking #17 white, but it was clear as day from the TV angle.

I'd think F should be watching the ball and the blocks should be covered by someone else.

What about the B letting the kicker tee it up BEHIND the restraining line? Should be ON the line, or is that picking nits?

I agree. Not sure that is picking nits. Wonder why they did it that way.
Is this not reviewable at all? Pretty blatent miss and more obvious than the other clip as they K is blocking the R at the point of the ball prior to 10 yards.

No. Only when the ball is punted following a safety could it be kicked from behind the restraining line.

You are correct Mike, in 7 man the F and S's primary is that the ball crosses their plane, but they also may be able to see early blocks. The B and U are to watch their plane for offside and the H and L have the ball being grounded and then early blocks by A.

I forgot about that part (LJ's got the blocks). The person who blocked was 3rd guy in (MAC keys K players). So it would not be F's main responsibility for key or blocks, but looking again, he does have the best look.

Kind of have to ask who was blocking who? 17 white makes contact at about 8 yards from the kicking team line, not sure if I would have a blocking call on the kicking team. With that said, how many players were on the far side of the ball when it was kicked?????? Look like only one to me.

No "whose blocking who" question to answer here - 17 white is both looking at and is going directly to the ball and is in 100% protected space. The kicking team cannot touch him there and if he is going for the ball as he clearly is, they have to avoid him.
I'd agree that the kicking alignment was very close, but given the mechanics used here, whose going to call that foul (if there actually was one)?

SIX officials within a 10 yard band, and no one saw the contact clearly before the 10 yard mark or before the ball was touched?
I don't see any problem with the alignment. At the point where K kicks the ball, one player is clearly between his back and the far sideline, and three are even with and possibly even behind him. That one is close enough not to be an issue.
But missing the early contact was awful!
