Officials timeout for the TASO 2 week warning.
Its almost over "good ole boys"!!!!
UIL will start on December 1st.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Having read all the UIL/TASO posts on the board until now, I keep having the reoccurring thought that he is nothing but a troll of the worst kind.
I like reading about officiating and everything that it impacts (even the politics), but I have not seen one post of his that had any factual information or was anything except for taunting and mudslinging.
-
The problem is, that you have your haves and your have nots. Ornery is obviously a have not. He is a typical liberal in the cheese line waiting for a government hand out. It would be to hard to go out and do a good job officiating and try to get a game that way. It doesn happen over night folks. I have been in 17 years and have 2 state championships. I have been to the semis 7 out of the last 8 years. It takes work. It is much easier to sit around with your hand out.

Ornery, what is your plan B when the UIL loses their case? It appears that there a quite a few coaches wanting to verify that the officials they picked for their games are NOT uil registered. Could it be they prefer TASO over UIL? They are upset that they have to write those checks to the UIL for the 15% of the gate when that money could be better spent on their schools.
-
what is FIFY? just curious. have seen this on several posts and have not been able to figure it out.

Plan A is working just fine, thank you. Coaches may or may not be upset, however, coaches are not having to write any checks to the UIL. The superintendants are the real "bosses" and they appear to be more than happy with the UIL and lets not forget who signs the coaches paychecks!!!!! yEs:

Not around here. The supers here may technically be the boss, but my impression is that the AD calls the shots when it comes to UIL. The supers are hired by the board to oversee the overall education of all the students. The AD calls the shots when it comes to athletics. I can only tell you how it is here, but I'm sure it's the same in other areas as well. What helps us is that we have some officials who are also school board members. So you tell me who is calling the shots in those areas. The Supers will do as the board dictates.

It stands for Fixed It For You. Used in when a poster makes an incorrect or illogical statement. Mainly used on this board when ornery1 posts to help clarify his position. His posts are humorous and not based on anything other than spite and ignorance. His posts are fixed to take make sense of his attempt at humor and to help keep him relevant, which other than hearing his own voice (or reading his own posts), seems to be all that he is interested in doing.

Well, Ornery: Not unless we find out that the presiding Federal Judge in this case just happens to be your dear old Uncle Wilbur! I think it's about time for you to make your UIL wish in one hand and ... well, you certainly should be familiar with the rest of the phrase! z^

Freedom of speech even if you are ignorant

WABill, I don't care what side of the debate you are on and I don't have anything to gain or lose by the outcome of all this, but that's funny stuff. aWaRd

We have lots of members on here he don't contribute anything to the board, but we're not banning all of them either. We've had others in the past that could have been banned, but once the hot topic was over, they went away. I figure the same will be said for some of the folks on this topic too.

Yep, his life span is coming to an end. Hearing is on weD, decision by following wed. He will either be able to come out of the closet or he will slink away.

Hey Ornery,
got one locked up for next week already. How many has the uil set you up with?

No sir, I will be evaluating this week in the San Antonio area and next week I will be observing the Thanksgiving Holidays with my Family and the only football I see will be on the TV. But I should be energized and ready to go for weeks 4,5 & 6. Happy Holidays to all and make all your calls BIG.

Well, Ornery: it's a certainty that you're not out there "evaluating" for TASO. And I really can't bring myself to believe that the UIL is desperate enough to have someone of your magnitude out there "evaluating" for it [but with all due respect, you would probably be better suited to perform that task rather than to rely on your :!# UIL Director of Officiating to do it. I don't feel that he even has the credentials to evaluate a checkers match!]
In any event, it sure seems like an awfully long way from West Texas to San Antonio just to go see a football game for the sole purpose of "evaluating" officials! So sit back and get energized for Weeks 4, 5, and 6! And if the chips all fall your way in Wednesday's court hearing, I hope you get to have the immense pleasure of getting to work all of those Week 4, 5, and 6 games with all of the UIL volleyball, basketball, and wrestling officials alongside all of those recruits that :!# Tony the Tiger has verbally pledged to bring into the fold just to keep there from being a severe shortage of football officials for those later "UIL" rounds of games. Who knows? Maybe the tiphat: Good UIL Dr. will appoint you to train all those folks and at the same time add you to the state payroll! z^

I just love how the fact that I can throw in a hot word such as "evaluate" and this board just starts foaming at the mouth. As I sit in my San Antonio hotel room after a few to many cocktails and watching my brother and his crew this evening (Great job guys) I had a ball, even though the ground crew was being a little horsey, but none the less I was doing exactly that "evaluating". If you can't ask your brother to come down and give you a honest evaluation who can you truly ask that will say it like it is? In today's society, too many crews just say "great job" and won't tell you the things that will make you better (because they are scared you might take their job next).
Last but not least, Kimmel you of all people ought to know what I just described. Wasn't your brother an official, had he ever asked you to do the same thing or vice versa. I will bet the answer is "yes". So good night from the San Antonio Riverwalk. I'm going to enjoy my Sunday and make my relatively short drive home back up 35. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

I just love how the fact that I can throw my brother and his crew under a bus. Long live the UIL!
