Title: Bowling Green - Toledo
Post by: TXMike on November 18, 2010, 01:58:21 PM
B has returned a punt 70 yards for a score early in the 3d qtr.  Middle of 3d qtr, A is winning 28-14.  4th and 15 at the A-40.  A's punt is downed at the B4.  During the kick there was a personal foul against Team A.  Does B take 1st and 10 at their 19 or do they make A go back and have a 4th and 30 at the A-25?

Isn't it B's choice?

My idea would be to have them re-kick. Chances of getting better field position, possible block or muff by K.

Chester - it is B's choice.  I did not mean to imply we (refs) would decide what to do. I was asking what you would expect B to do(if given the choicve).

Kick just went 56 yds, can kicker do that twice in a row?  - I'd have them kick it again, no question.

I was watching and thought to take at end of the kick not wanting to get pinned deeper inside the 20.

Unless B is down to its third return man who also fumbled every punt he returned last year--definitely rekick.
