Some of you may have seen or heard of my show "Nice Call Ref" which airs weekly on the website http://desmoinesamplified.com -- if you care to catch it live, we run for one hour at 7 pm Central, 8 pm Eastern, etc. We take questions by chat or phone.
I'm looking for primarily basketball and football officials with significant experience -- at least 15 years of NFHS work, some college or pro would be nice as well. We can bring you on the show via Skype, using your web cam so we can see you. Because it's video as well as audio, we can use graphics, slides, even video clips to illustrate anything where beneficial. We get a small number of live viewers, most see the recorded version online at http://nicecallref.com.
Interested? Know someone in your area I might talk to? I'm Dan Johnson, email me zebradan (at) gmail.com, or text me 515.991.5163, Twitter @nicecallref
BTW - I'm not making a dime from this, just hoping to eventually gain sponsors to raise a bit for my association. These shows are a good resource for newer and experienced officials alike. Always open to your suggestions.

Anybody interested in this? I'd be glad to send you some background info -- we can cover almost any officiating topic you find interesting. Reply here or email me.

I'm sure there are people out there interested, but you're limiting yourself with 15 year/college/pro requirement. I'm sure there are some officials with 5-15 years that probably have something to offer. If you're still looking in 9 years, let me know.

Good point -- most of my guests have been very experienced, just a few have had significant college experience. Nine years is great if you're interested, have some stories to tell or particular topic of interest. Old farts ( ;D and I mean that as a term of endearment) are full of nuggets of wisdom, but younger and mid-career guys offer a view that may resonate better with new officials. One of my guests was a 7-year guy, a crewmate of mine who's done basketball that long, wanted to get his thoughts on that sport as well.
Some of my better shows have had two or more members of the same crew who can offer different perspectives. I've interviewed one baseball umpire, also talked to soccer, wrestling and even roller derby officials.
I'm sure willing to try different things. Shoot an email to zebradan [at] gmail.com to discuss.

I would like to suggest Grant Jackson...founder of refstripes.com and SEC official...that would make for a nice segment!
