Team A 4/20 at B's 40. Punt muffed by B33 at B's 25 and recovered by A34 at B's30.
Is it A 1/10 at B's 30 or B 1/10 as the punt hasn't gone far enough to make a first down for A?
I'm thinking the muff isn't considered as possession so whilst the touch makes it legal for A to recover it's still considered their 4th down so they would need to make the yards to get a first. I've looked to see if there's anything about a punt being team A giving position away which could make it first down for who ever end's up with the ball after a punt regardless of how far it travels, but couldn't find anything. If it is something like this if you would be able to directly me towards the rule that would be great.

I would also add that the continuity of downs is broken when a scrimmage kick crosses the neutral zone. 5-1-4-e.

With respect, Brownie, if you're a HS official, the relative FED rule reference is 5-1-3f in the 2009 book. "A new series if awarded to the team in possession at the end of the down if R is the first to touch a scrimmage kick while it is beyond the expanded neutral zone, unless the penalty is accepted for a non-PSK foul which occurred before the kick ended".

Europe? UK, I bet ("whilst" gave me a clue).
I'm a HS official; but I'm fascinated by NCAA rules and interpretations (and, seemingly, the growing number of differences between the two). Clearly, NCAA rules need a lot of continuous study and this forum is great in that regard.

Same answer. Team A gets a first down since the field goal attempt crossed the neutral zone and there was not a change in team possession during the play. 3-1-3-e.
