Title: Free kick

When a free kick goes oob untouched by R, one option is 25 yds from prev spot 1st and 10 r.   Is it the same principle in the NFL?  I know they kick from the 30 and get it at r 40. Do they have any other options? Thanks :)

Three options at the Fed level:
1. Take the ball where it went OOB. (essentially: Penalty declined)
2. Take the ball 25 yards from where it was kicked.
3. Penalize K 5 yards and re-kick.

This happened in the Steelers v Jets game, and Ed Hoculi said the ball would be placed at the 40.  That is an awarded spot 30 yards from the free kick spot.  I do not know what other options are available to the receivers if any.

NFL is 30 yards from kickoff spot or spot where it went out of bounds.  There is no rekick option.

There used to be an automatic 5 yard penalty and rekick the first time an onside kick went OOB, but that was elimnated in 2010, as it usually benefitted the kicking team.
