What's with the jeffs on the officials - part of the throw back, I guess?

Points off for no stirrups and yellow flags.  Having said that, what they've got looks pretty great.

weren't they checkered? or just red? either way, I've been trying to get as much time out of 6 pairs of excellent knickers as possible.

About the only thing "throwback" about that uniforms were the hats. Everything else other than the color of the socks is the exact same as last year.

Inthehole, at various times the markers were solid red and half-red, half-white-diagonally divided.  I think the red-and-white came before the all-red.  My late father officiated back in the red-and-white days.  I have only known the yellow in my three 1/2 decades of doing this.
