Title: Handling Melees
Post by: TXMike on September 26, 2011, 07:30:05 AM
When it gets to this point fellas, get your arses out of the way and start taking notes.  There is no way we 5 (or even 7) are going to restore order.  It will restore itself or coaches will restore it (although college games do not have the luxury of relying on coaches).

Interesting to note that once again it looks like a thug not even in uniform is the one who really gets it going.

Looks like a good job by that crew of doing just that. I saw a couple of them trying to break up the 1-on-1s outside the main melee, but overall they stayed out of it.

Hopefully your state association watches the videos and hands out plenty of suspensions.

Looks like the bench cleared on at least one team.  I would first get the offense and defense to line back up, then whoever is left on the bench would be disqualified along with any other that got numbers written down.

I like this idea. Maybe in situations like this the wing guys should turn around and make note of the numbers of those who haven't come on the field, then as you say eject everyone else bar the O and the D on the field at the time and the guys who had the sense to stay put.
