On the delay of game signal (NCAA), it shows it to be cross your arms in front of your chest, yet when I work chains, I observe most crew chiefs use the NFL signal <Arms on top of one another>.
What is the correct signal to use? I don't think I have ever seen the crossing of the arms in front of your chest in any college game for that matter, yet they put it in the rulebook?
Please help me demystify this strange phenomenon before I land pi1eOn ;D

I see the NFL signal all the time in HS games, too. Oh well.
What's to demystify? I doubt that "most" NCAA white hats signal it incorrectly. Those that do might want to work on Sunday. ;)

The same can be said about the TV timeout signal. Very seldom do I see the correct signal given.

I was just a bit confused, having just got back into officiating and looking at one thing on a sheet of paper and looking at other officials do it :)
But thanks for clearing it up guys :thumbup
