I rule touchback on the first one. At the moment the player downs the ball, the front nose of the ball (about two inches of it) has crossed the end line. Might be the angle, but from what I see, I have a TB.

I am pretty sure it is the angle  .   The B was right there and would never miss this.  We are highly trained professionals.

Thank goodness.  I thought I was going to have to watch a video of TXMike with severe flatulence.

I will say that standing behind U's all our life does give us a certain immunity to the worts kinds of flatulence

Except in extremely high wind conditions, that would only happen on an astroturf field - not many of them still left. Interesting to speculate about the possibility of a B player blocking one (or more) of the 'escorts,' while they escort the ball. Hmmm. Not late. Not a player clearly out of the play. Might make 'em think twice about escorting the rolling ball. Not promoting the idea, just musing....

I got to experience this wind last night myself. We ended up having to have our U stand on top of the ball before every play because when he spotted it, it tended to roll away from the LOS

Had a similar game earlier this season. Had to use one of my beanbags as a doorstop to hold the ball in place.

He, like all umpires, must have great balance. LOL

If he stood on the ball they would be needing a new ball
