I wasn't sure how to word this question in the subject line, so I did the best I could.
My question is...if you have 2 live ball fouls (Let's say a hold on Team A), but one of the fouls is a 15 yard personal foul (Let's say for facemask on Team B), do you still offset the penalties?
Are there any other situations like I described above that I need to be aware of when I am on the field?

Live-ball fouls by both teams, regardless of associated penalty distances, will offset. Keep in mind that fouls offset, not penalties. So, just know that an offside by B is offset by a hold by A; or a hold by A is offset by a facemask by B; or an illegal formation by A is offset by a roughing the passer by B; etc. Also, if both teams foul, with one team (or both) having multiple fouls, they all offset.
The exception to this is the "clean hands" privilege. If one team is free from foul before last gaining possession, then they commit a foul after last gaining possession, they can keep the ball by declining offsetting fouls, and thus, declining the penalty for the opponent's foul. Then, the opponent has the option to accept or decline the penalty by the team in possession.

Thanks El...that made things a lot easier for me to understand.

NFL has a 15 vs 5, where only the 15 yard penalty is assessed even if there is more than one of the simple 5's, but in NCAA, they will offset.

The 15 v. 5 in the NFL only applies to 15 (obviously) yard penalies versus a five yard penalty ONLY and only applies when there is no change of possession...if a score results on the play, the 15 yard penalty is enforced from the previous spot.

Also, even though the fouls offset, any disqualified player is still disqualified.
