Title: LSU - Alabama 2 ("Whine" and cheese)
Post by: TXMike on January 14, 2012, 04:57:29 PM
Apparently a LSU o-lineman was not a happy camper:

Right tackle Alex Hurst was twice whistled for false-start penalties on first-and-10 and Senior Guard Will Blackwell did his share of whining after the game by claiming that Bama was calling out cadences.  He said, “…this is absolutely one of the worst officiated games I’ve seen in my career. I don’t know where the refs were from, what conference, but in my opinion, they did a poor job. Like I said, they called out a few cadences, which is, by the rules, illegal, and that got us a couple of false starts, put us in holes and really killed a couple of drives.”

========================
Perhaps he was not happy because they let him get away with this little doozy..(He is White #60)

Too bad players can't be fined for running their mouth in the paper about the officiating.

Any idea at what point in the game the video is from?  I thought I'd seen that particular lineman doing a few similar things during dead ball times.  As a former player, that stuff HURTS.  In about 9th grade I learned, make the tackle and get up quickly otherwise bad stuff happens.  Wish I could be more specific about the things #60 did, but I've erased my DVR copy.

As a ref, the main complaint I hear from the pile is they're trying to rack me.  We caught a guy doing it once and ejected him for fighting (HS SV game).

If an NCAA Coach makes a derogatory comment about the officiating, doesn't he subject himself as well as the institution he represents to some form of sanction from the NCAA. To that end, the NCAA should make it go a tad further in that any derogatory comments offered up by a given player should have any resulting fines/sanctions assessed against his Coach/School. Seems to me that would put a definite quietus to players needlessly running their mouths to the media over such actions!   z^

Wishful thinking, Arbitrator; that won't happen. I can see it now. Kid gets HACKED over his playing time so he decides he's going to "fix" his coach by speaking to the press about last week's Umpire. Hmm...

That's what losers do. They blame officials. :)
