Title: Test Question
Post by: Jackhammer on August 15, 2012, 12:53:34 PM
"Nonplayer and unsportsmanlike fouls are not considered when determining if a period ends or must be extended"

Rule references are 3-3-3a and 3-3-4b.

So I think the answer the test makers are shooting for is a True.  However, the wording of the question makes it impossible to answer this true.  All fouls are always "considered" when determing to end or extend a period.  i'm thinking it's gotta be a false answer.

Thoughts.

Answer is true.  Nonplayer fouls and unsportsmanlike fouls are treated as dead ball fouls and do not prevent a quarter or game from ending.

As usual, the test's verbiage falls over itself. A better sentence: "No period is extended for nonplayer or unsportsmanlike fouls."
