Title: DPI Mich vs Ala?

From this video. you really don't know if the ball has been thrown yet when the contact occurs.

At full speed, I couldn't tell if he was even yet, or not.

Post by: NVFOA_Ump on September 03, 2012, 01:32:56 PM: Very tough call at full speed but breaking it down by frame, Team A player beats his man with a out-and-up move and when defender realizes he's beat clean gives him the stiff arm to the chest when he's directly beside him. They're both on the same yard line and the receiver is actually in no position to be able to block the defender.

This one could probably have drawn a flag and been considered a correct call but again watching at full speed it's a tough one.

If the contact occurred before the ball was thrown and was deemed illegal per rule 9-3-4-c the penalty would be Illegal Use of Hands by the Defense, 10 yards.
