Has anyone heard if NFHS is going to allow HS officials to change over to the wider striped shirts like the NCAA is wearing? I was just wondering... In my opinion I like the look of the wider NCAA stripe shirt. But I also think that one day the manufactures will stop making the shirts we're wearing now and we will be forced too change? Also I need to purchase a new shirt and I would rather hold off and wait if there is a change coming next year. What you guys think?

The drawback with the NCAA shirts is, from what I see on Honigs, the position plackard is not changeable. So if you work more than 1 position, you'll need more then 1 shirt. I suppose there are other makers, but that seems to be the norm.

If you need a new shirt, then buy it. Don't look unprofessional or cheap because you don't want to spend half a game check on a shirt that may or may not be in style five years from now.
There are more sports that wear the 1" stripe than just football. Its not going anywhere for quite some time.

HLNC -I always look professional when I take the field and take great pride in my appearance. After the season I will be purchasing new shirts and I didn't want to spend the money for new shirts if there was a change coming... That was my question. No need for your juvenile comments. Also, its good to know that you know the balance in my checking account.

Nothing juvenile was implied.

Alabama will be going to a different shirt next year- as an option- more on the lines of the NFL shirt. Stripes like the NFL but the yoke and sleeves are solid black
-
I do not think the 1" striped shirt will be discontinued anytime soon. There are a lot more high school football officials then college officials and as HLinNC said, other sports also use them.

Looks like a CFL and HS uniform mated.

Except for the knickers, I like it.

Personally I would love to wear the 2 in. striped shirt. From what I understand, it is about to be offered without the position placket just like the 1 in striped shirt.

Don't like it. With all of that black above the shoulder, it could be too easily confused with a team wearing black uniforms, particularly from the side.
Do what soccer referees do: they have gold, blue, black and red shirts, and they decide at the site which one to wear, choosing the one with the most contrast to the teams uniforms!

Smitty brand shirts already come this way with no placket. You then have to sew the plackets and patches on the old fashioned way if you want them for college

I saw that, but there is a giant black square on the back of the shirt. I'm talking about them offering the shirt complete with stripes all the way and no place for a placket

Not a fan of those shirts at all.

Its more like the NFL stripe I think there are 4 or 5 white stripes that stop at the yoke
