Last week, ball snapped at B-24, DPI (incomplete pass) at the B-2, so we penalized the full 15 yards to the B-9(exception to half-the-distance rule). Since the current PI rules have been in effect, have not had that happen before. Even the LJ questioned it momentarily, but then the fog cleared or him.
This week, 4th down, outside FG range, A goes for the first down. QB drops back, scrambles, gets hit, fumbles, ball pops up and back, where tackle A79 catches the fumble some three yards behind the spot of the fumble. A79 takes about two steps before we get the play processed and recognize the 4th down fumble rule, shut the play down, and correctly spot the ball where A79 caught the ball, and award ball to B. I've had a few 4DFs before, but none where the ball was a) caught in flight, and b) caught behind the spot of the fumble. The value of the fourth-down-fumble rule signal - we were prepared.
That's what it is all about, eh?

Good job on two good calls. I had a first last night, as well. First time I'd ever thrown a flag for "Tebowing". LOL

You flaged someone for praying? Who's your officiating organization, the ACLU?

Rolling the arms (like false start).
