Can a Coach enter the field to coach during an injury time out? Please state rule(s) reference(s).
9-2-2-b-1 (2012-2013 Rule Book)?

Don't go looking for boogers. As long as he stays near the sideline, who cares. Out in the middle of the field? No.

I try to keep them outside the numbers if they aren't tending to the injured player. I also don't limit how many players can be coached - if the team chooses to huddle along the numbers, that's their business, as long as they comply with the substitution rules.

As long as they know that we aren't holding up the game any longer once the injured player is off the field. I've seen too many officials act like jerks trying to force the coaches off the field. Per 9-2-2-b-1, they have my permission.

I remember a time, won't say how long ago, but water was not allowed on the field during injury time outs. Takes me back to coach Boone, "water is for cowards" . Let them coach, keep them back on the sides.

You and me brother. Our coaches must have graduated together.

We didn't even get water. We got an ice chest full of ice and whatever we could scoop up is what we got. We had 2 ice breaks during practice.

Totally agreed, Mike! As long as they keep it outside of the numbers, then I'm quite OK with that. But if they're coming out to the middle of the field to see about an injured player, then I restrict their presence there for that purpose only! No coaching!
