Are they running out of things to vote on?

I'm old enough to remember before 5A was created.  Now they will call the old 4A the new 6A.  Change?  Not much.

How does it make any difference what they are called? Is anything actually changing?

No more difference than changing D1-A to FBS and D1-AA to FCS. Just politics, with a little bit of 'elite-ism' thrown in.

It doesn't sound like anything is actually changing, other than adding a few spots for lower divisions.

Class B appeared in 1972, along with both 8 man and 6 man -- 3 separate divisions. It stayed until 1980 when it was elevated to 1A along with all the other divisions. Class B was never 6 man.

This will also help 6man schools by allowing them their own class in spring sports. Right now 11man 1A and six man schools combine for track, tennis, golf etc.

And  :bOW tiphat: Manor Road  cRaZy will love it, too; Since it's unlikely that the Court is going to allow them to be able to levy fees/taxes on officials. So now they're just looking for relevant ways to be able to give  tiphat: Uncle Charlie and his  cRaZy Dancing Monkey their latest pay raises!   z^

Nice to see that arbitrator has found another way to continue his emote campaign against the folks in the UIL.  He must have been going into withdrawals these last few months.

Well it is an election year, after all, and I'm rather hopeful that the same slate of presiding judges will be re-elected up there in Travis County!   z^
