Man in motion
(1/1)
bsaucer:
I'm an American football fan, and I'm trying to learn some of the CFL rules. I have questions about when a man is in forward motion during the snap:
1. If he runs past the line of scrimmage prior to the snap, is he flagged for offside?
2. If he runs between the wide receiver and the tackle at the time of the snap, does that make him ineligible to receive?
3. If he runs around a tight end at the time of the snap, does that make the tight end ineligible?

1. Yes. Offensive players may not cross the line of scrimmage before the snap.
2. No. Players in motion remain eligible.
3. I do not believe so. The TE remains eligible. https://cfldb.ca/rulebook/passing/forward-pass/#r6s4a4a and https://cfldb.ca/rulebook/passing/forward-pass/#r6s4a4n4
I just found this as well, perhaps for interests' sake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yH6SbRBtd4
