Where to get a shirt with numbers
« on: May 16, 2012, 11:05:35 AM »
I'm looking for a place to get a 2" striped shirt and get numbers on the back.  It seems every place has the 2" stripes with the position, but not the option for numbers.  I seem to remember seeing somewhere that offered the shirts with position or number, but now I can't find it.

Any leads?

while I believe most all 2" shirts @Honigs come pre-stenciled with position, I believe they also have blank 2" shirts too.
As far as them having #'s too?? goodness, that's a tough one. hey, maybe they can get you info of who used to do the position plackards before they were stenciled.

I just got off the phone with Honig's.  It appears as though they can do it, but it doesn't seem like something they do often so it took some time to get answers.  I would like to get the numbers separate so I can use the shirt for college and semi-pro.

I thought only the NFL used numbers and so unless you're an NFL Official I don't think you can use them and I think you are assigned your shirt number when they hire you.

I'm pretty sure Virginia uses numbers on their HS officials, at least in photos and videos I had seen from there.

I don't believe the fabric of the new style shirt is conducive to sewing/velcroing a placket on.  The lettering and numbers used on the new style appears to be heat pressed/sealed.

Not everywhere in VA uses the numbers.  My association, for example, goes number-free.  Coaches can still find out who we are easily enough...

I'd have whoever is requesting the numbers to find out where you can get them or have them get the numbers for you.
