According to my well-placed sources, Saban will coach 4-5 more years at 'Bama before retiring.  The 'Sips will have to look elsewhere.

I hear Leslie Miles is available, but there would have to be a clause that prevents Bevo from grazing within the confines of DKR Stadium.

Sounds like this afternoon, the boosters overshot the runway, and were way out of step with what was going on in the coach stay or leave deal.  About all they accomplished was get Saban a pay raise and make Mack look like a lame duck.  Will have to say, Mack could have told UT to stuff it and walked away and left them hanging in the wind. Just how much it hurts recruting will be known in spring.

It's puzzling that Texas thinks they are on the same prestige level as Alabama.

However, I heard Mike Leach is willing to talk.   :sTiR:

When you are willing to pay your coach over $5 million a year and make him the 2d highest paid coach in NCAA football, that automatically gives you  a pretty high "prestige level".

Which is exactly what is wrong with college football today. It's all about money.

Yes and no. When I graduated HS some 40+ years ago, college football was a business not a sport. Granted, with the influx of television stations, cable, etc. it has gotten out of hand.
