I think this exchange highlights how hard it is for some people to learn... the advice 'just go study the rulebook' is largely useless for certain types of learners; some (like me) pick things up far more quickly when there is additional context to the rules.
So if anyone has any other suggested reading/training aids, I'm always open to suggestions. I've stocked up on a bunch of books from referee.com, and anatomy of a game, and a couple other resources, but always looking for more.
