Title: 2013-2014 Rulebook, Revision 1

Has anyone else noticed that the size of the 2013-2014 Rev 1 rulebook is a full 300 mb smaller that the Rev 0 version?  And does anyone have a summary of what changed between the two?  It's 6% smaller, so I'm thinking that a fairly significant amount of text has been eliminated?

It is also possible that the file has been processed differently.

My boss said they were trying to get the crackback block change put into the book that is what the hold up is.

Yes - In fact 2 versions.  The original version in early June and a replacement (Rev 1) version last week.  I can't find any "official" explanation on-line, but it appears that the "early" shipments of books are being replaced with the updated copies now.

I downloaded the latest version today, and compared it to the previous one. I may have missed something, but the difference I found was 9-1-6-a-4, which is added. It states "Players not covered in paragraph 1 (above) may not block below the waist toward the original position of the ball at the snap."

Like I said, there may be more.

The changes I spotted from V2 to V3 were:

Inclusion of the AR changes from the BBW Clarification memo:

• AR 9-1-6-IV - because it is too much to the opponent’s side and because it is directed toward the original position of the ball
• AR 9-1-6-VII - If A22 is in motion at the snap, his block is illegal if it is toward the original position of the ball.

Also, the following minor editing corrections to ARs:

• AR 3-3-9-II - ... if Team A takes a timeout.
• AR 9-3-3-IX - A12 takes the snap and retreats to pass.

The only change I found from V1 to V2, other than the inclusion of 9-1-6-a-4, was a minor editing change on page FR-6 where the 2012 editorial change list now uses a lowercase "I":

• 2-20 - May include game-clock subtraction in penalty

Does anyone know if there's any expectation to go with a 4th revision or is this absolutely the final version?  I want to download and have a 8X11 copy produced but don't want to waste money.
