Hello all I am a coach and a teacher and I am currently training to teach an engineering class to high school students and our project is to redesign a kicking tee and was wondering if you could help me with the rules about the tee. thanks!

High School Rules: A kicking tee shall be made of pliable material which elevates the
lowest point of the ball no more than 2 inches above the ground.

The Jan Stenerud model

The "standard" model

The "donut"- most of these I have seen leave the orange doohickey off and they are usually wrapped in athletic tape.

You may be interested in these (http://www.newitts.com/cdn/images/products/new-design/800x800/it001665.jpg?140610) things (http://www.lovell-rugby.co.uk/products/775.jpg), which are quite common in rugby (particularly Rugby League) and unheard of most anywhere else.  They're designed to hold the ball at an angle rather than pointing straight up, and they're also adjustable for different kickers' preferences (there's no laws other than biomechanics about how high the ball can be off the ground).

Also this style (http://www.newitts.com/cdn/images/products/new-design/300x300/it031903.jpg?140610), as popularised by All Black Dan Carter, which is made of flexible rubber rather than hard plastic.
