In this sometimes "sue-happy" world, like DallasLJ, this doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is:
(1) The students were from Penn, an Ivy League school, and I would have assumed were more interested in their education then honing their track skills.
(2) IMHO, the sports millionaires are from football, baseball, basketball and hockey. $$$ in track and field usually arrives in the form of endorsements to highly successful Olympic athletes, Ivy League kids probably have a strong probabilty backgrounds and should understand that $$$ success in their chosen field which probably would not be track and field.
(3) We've probably heard of the Penn Relays which may indicate track and field is stronger there then most colleges, but I'm sure it doesn't compare with the revenue from the basketball and football programs.
....enough rant, time for a hot cup of clam broth coca eAt&

What amazed me was that a federal district court got it right!
