What's your favorite offense? If there's one thing the Rich Rodriguez years taught me, it's how to enjoy a nice defensive struggle. For me, I really enjoy the old full-house backfield/I formation line-up-and-run-it-straight-through-em football that we played in the 1970s and even in the 80s and 90s to a degree. This coming from someone who grew up in the age where offenses are getting more and more fast-paced and higher-scoring.
I also have a fondness for the triple option, so long as it isn't my team that's lining up against it on defense. :P I make sure to watch the Army-Navy game every year. I'm one of the few oddballs who still wants to line up with two tight ends and a fullback and play smash mouth football when Oregon is trying to snap he ball before the Umpire even has it set.
So what say you guys? What's your favorite offense?

The one with the least incomplete passes.
We ran Pro-set split back in high school. I always loved watching Oklahoma run the wishbone on t.v. back in the late 70's and 80's.

oh, the ones that huddle.

What's a huddle?o

The one with the least incomplete passes. I'll echo that and runs up the middle rarely end up out of bounds.

We ran the Missouri-style single wing. The QB would set up side-saddle over the center. This allowed direct snaps to the fullback. Our favorite play, 3-12 pitch, was a direct snap to the fullback, he would then hand off to the QB who would then pitch to the wing. On rare occasions it would gain yardage. On even rarer occasions we would win a game.

After 20+ years I am in full agreement. For a brief moment I thought the no huddle, get the play in formation would help get the receivers lined up better- and then that moment went away. Huddle up, run the ball, run the ball, run the ball!

The Wing-T or Double Wing with 11 players "in the box" that huddles and uses at least 20 seconds of the play clock and throws 4 or 5 passes per game (all complete) ;D. Believe it or not, we have two teams in our area that meet the above description.

When these two teams meet ,your game should be over early enough to make it home for Law And Order reruns beginning @ 9 PM...or better yet, to another high school game for the halftime zebra conference :)! Pity the sNiCkErS umpire sNiCkErS for getting a good play read from the double wing may be a challenge hEaDbAnG.

+1 for the Huddle. I don't mind complete/incomplete as much (obviously complete is good), but huddles are a wonderful thing. I don't know why they are going away...

It just so happens that our HS's somewhat new(er) head coach runs the double wing, of which my son is a rising senior WR, or as I like to call him, the "skinny tackle". He does do an excellent job of bringing the predominantly running plays in to the QB, however.
The HC my senior year came in right before the season started so he left us in our pro set offense. The next year he switched to the Wishbone and ran it for years. Nearly 10 years after he retired, we had our second of two major D1 QB's coming through the school. The old coach came to practice one day, looked at him and told him had he been playing for him, he would have made him a tackle.

I like the A-11. nAnA

I like the "The offense that shall not be named". nAnA
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention that.
-
The "The offense that shall not be named" of course.
I do wish teams still ran the wishbone.

Sounds like you played at Brown in the early 60s pray:;
