Title: Florida Officials
Post by: TexDoc on October 06, 2016, 10:18:38 AM
Not just Florida, but all of you guys along the east coast.  I would bet lots of games are being moved or cancelled.  I'm hoping you guys weather the storm and damage is minimal.

And worse yet, it looks like it may loop around for a second go round at Florida

Disclosure: i'm not a weatherman, I dont play one on TV and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
If it stays on past, and as of 2p...
This is a major even to everyone on the east coast of FL as well as those in the middle of the state (i.e. Orlando).  This is basically a non-even for those in the West coast.
Once it loops around it will be a tropical storm (a lot of rain and wind <40mph) and may go back to Daytona or melbourne or Jax.

My cousin owns a sail boat charter in the keys.  His wife is a marine biologist somewhere down there.  He's high tailing it back to Texas.  Mother nature always wins.

To TX? - really?
Many of those KW folks ride them out - they are used to it - often.
Or if they skedaddle, They will swing around to a Gulf city in FL i.w. Ft Myers, Bradenton, Tampa

My daughter-in-law is in Orlando for a medical meeting.  She flew in Tuesday and they cancelled the meetings on Wednesday morning.   She is stuck there until Saturday, holed up in a hotel with a lot of other folks.   By the time she decided to try to drive back to Texas, the evacuation was in place for the coastal areas and she could not get away.

To quote what I've often heard: "If Jim Cantore (weather channel) is in your town, you know there's trouble."

Yeah, he's making it a good excuse to bring the grand daughter home to see grand parents.  Might as well.

The governor in the great state of SC decided to cancel school beginning Wednesday of this week for a good portion of SC. In my area there are no games. Most have been moved to Nov. 4 basically adding a week to the regular season.
