And a local coach last Friday could not understand why I flagged him for standing in front of me when the ball was snapped. And then told the head coach "it wasn't me".  I still wear a knee brace thanks to a 9Th grade coach in north east Texas whom I tried to go around on a change of possession.

This also goes reminds us: don't purposefully run over someone in the restricted area when you see them there.  Run around them and drop the flag, or lightly graze them and drop the flag.

I prefer "here coach, hold this..." as you hand him flag and continue with the play.  Then come back and 'splain why he's holding the hanky.

Sad, but with no details it's hard to say he was where he shouldn't have been.

Might have start saying "Are you coacing like Urban Meyer?" when they are in the white now.  Glad someone finally had the guts to get one these big time coaches for 15.  Maybe we can get one to back up now.   aWaRd

Trying to be cute with a coach will not solve the problem. Stick to the basics and take care of business.  ^flag

I need to do this.  LOL LOL LOL

I had a Line Judge a few years ago ran behind the coach and as he was behind him, reached around and handed the flag to him.  The guy thought he was holding a grenade.  He just stood there holding it and didn't know what to do but stare at it.

gentle reminders help too.  i.e. "coach, if I run into you, it aint going to be pretty."  (I'm on the tall side and hit the scales around 240)

Don't ever think that flagging a coach for being in your working area is a bad thing.  We flagged a coach in Week 6 in a huge district game...he just selected us for the 2nd round of the state playoffs.  If you do things right, you will be respected.

I just politely talk to the coach before the game and mention that I would hate to have a collision and for someone to get hurt as a result.
