Title: Your favorite college fight songs
Post by: BrendanP on February 20, 2017, 08:10:34 PM

What are your favorite college fight songs?

Other than my alma mater's "The Victors," my favorites are:

San Diego State: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX_5Byr3eRo
Go U Northwestern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U56Tm0BrqmA
Ramblin' Wreck From Georgia Tech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygxDs_zcayo
Fight On State (PSU): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GxUxbQhq-M

I'm a fan of "Ramblin' Wreck" as well.  Reminds me of my childhood days when the Humble Bumbles were an SEC power and considered a hated rival of Alabama.

Interestingly, GT is one of the few (maybe the only) major D-I schools to have reduced their seating capacity in the last 50 years.

"Stand and drink to dear ole' Maine,
  shout till the rafters ring.
 Stand and drink to dear ole' Maine,
  let every Maine man sing....."

Rudy Vallee (a U-Maine alum) circa 1930s

I could sing you some version of "The Victors" that we sang when I was attending Ohio State over 30 years ago.

Haha I know a few versions of "Across The Field" that aren't Disney friendly either.

Rudy Vallee's Maine Stein Song was ranked 138th on "top hits of the '30s". The Notre Dame fight song would be my second choice.

While I attended Florida State - and their fight song probably isnt as popular as their 'war chant', I grew up in Tennessee.   That said, I think my favorite would be Rocky Top.
