if i'm not mistaken in year's past for thanksgiving weekend the ACC & SEC will flip home crews when the two are playing.
i.e. if UGa is home v GaTech the ACC will work the game; likewise, if Ky is at Lou the SEC would work it.
anyone know whether this still going on with these two conferences for thanksgiving weekend?

Without any direct knowledge, that has been the custom.

Isn’t that pretty typical for out of conference games throughout the season?

it is for power 5 conferences.

Right. Typically, a group-of-5 conference officiating crew will go to the Power 5 conference school probably 30% of the time. Otherwise, it's officiated by the Power 5 conference.

To clarify, the SEC, for example, will send a crew to work Ga at Ga Tech. Another Power 5 conference (e.g. Big 12) is not involved.
