1) A2/14@A32 A is trailing by 3 near the end of the game. Following a sack on 1st down (0:17) the offense rushes to the LOS to snap the ball, but not all 11 players were set prior to the snap (0:11) the QB spikes the ball immediately after possessing the snap (0:10). Ruling? Clock? What are some things the crew should consider as we approach the next snap?
2) A3/6@B-10. TE A80 is lined up to the right of right tackle A55. At the snap, A80 moves towards the ball and blocks B89 who is lined up on the line In front of A55 (but is not blocked by A55). The block is below the waist and from the front. QB A1 throws a forward pass that is intercepted by B13 in the EZ. B13 returns the ball to the B-34. During the return, B76 blocks A1 at the B-40 from the blindside and delivers forcible contact to the head or neck area with his forearm. The ruling, Clock?

Illegal shift that converts to a false start. The foul causes the clock to stop with 0:11 on the game clock. Since the foul causes the clock to stop, Team B will accept the 10-second subtraction. The game clock will start on the referee’s signal. With only 0:01 on the game clock, Team A can snap the ball from the A-27, but they will not be able to ground the ball to stop the clock. They will have to complete the down, and attempt to score.

The block by A80 is an illegal low block, being by an A player outside the tackle box at the snap, blocking low toward the ball. The BSB by B76 is also targeting, and occurs after B gains possession. B can, and will, use the “clean hands” provision, and decline the BBW foul, to retain possession of the ball. Team A will accept the targeting penalty, 15 yards from the end of B13’s run, 1/10, B-19. The game clock will start on the snap. The play clock will be set to 25 seconds, and will start on the referee’s signal. B76 is disqualified.
