Well, I’ll just try to put an end to this discussion before it even begins. What’s the point?
Watching the Nebraska-Northwestern game, the directive that was given by Shaw to address those cases that are “significantly out scope” is not making any difference. There are MANY cases in this game where the players are significantly out of scope. Many are trying to disguise their ‘scope’ by wearing leggings that match the color of the pants. But they aren’t fooling anybody.
So, let’s just all understand that this is not an issue that the teams/coaches take seriously, and is not going to be addressed by coordinators or officials. And that’s that.
Let’s all just get over it, let it go, and focus on BBW, BSB, PI, OH/DH, etc., and move on.
That will be my only comment on this subject, until the NCAA gets serious and devises a system of fines or other punitive measures that does/do not involve the game officials to address this issue.
Peace out.

How can you block him, and it not be BBW? LOL

That's an interesting tactic. LOL

We need two rule changes:
1) have the ‘crown’ line imprinted on all helmets (from the factory, and approved by the NCAA);
2) have the waist line embroidered on all pants (from the factory, and approved by the NCAA).
There. Those two problems are solved. ;D

We cannot officiate this until the rules-makers put some teeth into it and fully support us in the enforcing of it. Until then, I'm with Elvis, i.e., forget it and officiate the real game.
