1. 3/10 @ A-5. A44 takes a handoff and runs to the A-6 where he is hit and fumbles. A44’s fumble is airborne and B54 bats the ball forward from the A-8 and the ball goes out of bounds behind Team A’s goal line.
RULING:
A, 1/10, A-16, snap (25).
The natural result of the down is a safety. However, the batting of the ball (loose from a fumble) forward by B54 is a foul, with 3&1 enforcement from the Basic Spot (A-6, end of A44’s run), 10 yards. The yardage yields a new series for Team A. Because of the ‘apparent’ safety the game clock will start on the snap.
2. 3/15 @ B-45. QB A12 drops back and looks downfield for A88 who is the primary receiver, and defender B21 is holding A88 at the B-35. A12 throws a forward pass to his checkdown receiver A44 but the ball falls incomplete behind the line at the B-46.
RULING:
A, 1/10, B-35, snap (25).
B21 commits a defensive holding foul. Per 2022 rule change, defensive holding includes a first down for Team A, regardless of where, or against whom, the foul occurs.
3. 1/10 @ A-25. QB A12 in shotgun formation takes a deep drop back to pass and is in the pocket looking downfield for a receiver. Tackle A77’s hands contact defensive player B52’s back when B52 spins to avoid A77 at the A-20 in the tackle box. A77 keeps his hands on B52’s back while B52 advances toward A12. A12’s pass is complete to A88 at the A-40 where he is tackled inbounds.
RULING:
A, 1/10, A-40, ready (40 and running).
A77 does not commit a foul for an illegal block in the back when B52 ‘spins’ to avoid him, and A77 is already committed in his blocking action. Play continues.

5. 3/5 @ B-40. Ball carrier A20 is slowed by defensive players attempting to make the tackle at the B-42, and in order to gain extra yardage, lineman A77 puts his hands on the buttocks of A20 and pushes him forward. A20 is pushed forward and is down at the B-35.
RULING:
A, 1/10, B-35, ready (40 and running).
By rule, a teammate of the ball carrier may ‘push’ the ball carrier. No foul. Play continues.
6. 3/5 @ B-40. Ball carrier A20 is slowed by defensive players attempting to make the tackle at the B-42, and to gain extra yardage, lineman A77 grabs the arm of A20 and pulls him forward to the B-35 where he is downed.
RULING:
A, 3/5, B-40, ready (25).
A77 commits a foul for assisting the ball carrier by grasping A20 and pulling him forward. The 5-yard penalty is enforced per 3&1, with the Basic Spot the end of A20’s run (B-35), which is also the spot of the foul, taking the ball to the B-40, with the down repeated.
Rats. I misread the question as to where the 'pulling' action by A77 occurred. It started at the B-42, and ended at the B-35. So, yes, the penalty from the spot of the foul would take the ball to the B-47, with 3/12.
7. 2/Goal @ B-8. QB A12 throws a legal forward pass to the back of the end zone, and airborne A88 who is 1 yard inside the end line gains firm control of the ball. After gaining firm control of the ball and as A88 is returning to the ground in the end zone, defender B21 contacts A88 one yard inside the end zone, and knocks A88 back behind the end line where A88 makes first contact with the ground out of bounds. A88 maintains firm control of the ball throughout the process of going to the ground.
RULING:
A, 3/G, B-8, snap (40 and running).
An airborne player that firmly holds/controls a loose ball must return to the ground inbounds to complete the catch/recovery, OR be so held/controlled by an opponent(s) that his progress is stopped in the field of play. In this example, the opponent did not hold/control the player; he only blocked (contacted) the player, and that blocking caused the player to first return to the ground out of bounds, resulting in an incomplete forward pass.
8. 4/5 @ B-45. Early in the 2nd quarter with the clock running, Team A is in scrimmage kick formation, and clearly before the snap the play clock goes to 0. Punter A90 kicks the ball before the officials get the play shut down and the ball lands in the end zone.
RULING:
A, 4/10, 50, snap (25).
The 5-yard delay penalty is enforced from the succeeding spot, and 4th down continues. By rule, when a team commits a delay of game foul from a scrimmage kick formation, the game clock will next start on the snap.

Interesting that #1 cannot be a touchback because the batted ball never hit the ground, therefore no new impetus. Ridiculous exemption to the “new” impetus rule IMO, but dems de rules.
