On Friday, we actually had a team run a down with two players wearing number 10. First time in my 50 seasons I’ve ever had this. But, we got it.
Just don’t know why a high school team with less than 40 total players needs two of them with the same number.

Only reason I can think of is to cause confusion for the opponent!

If you’re seeing it at the high school level, it’s probably because a JV kid got into a blowout game. Teams typically bring everybody to give those kids the playoff experience. You probably had a JV and a varsity kid who happen to wear the same number and the coaches didn’t realize they were both in as they were rotating younger players in.

Let’s see…50-15, and the team with the two 10s had 50, in the 4th period…
Yeah. Probably so.
