Not sure if we should consider this the 1st game of 2011 or the last game of 2010, but there was an All-Star game this week so the video clipping shall begin!!
This is one of those procedural situations that has generated some discussion in the past. Illegal motion or false start (ignore the talking head)?

How is it anything but a false start? The wingback misses the snap count and starts early. Plain and simple. Worked out the same in this particular case, but going with a live-ball illegal motion might offset another foul, and that would be wrong.
Looks like a crew of 7, so the wing has gotta get this one.

Since this is a try we can easily "assume" that he simply beat the snap count, but what would we call if the formation was almost the same except QB is in under center with a 4th and goal from the 1 and the wing "beats the snap count" similar to what he does here?

1st down, 4th down, try, 1st period, 4th period, extra period - what's the difference? None. False start. The guy lurches forward clearly before the snap begins, catches himself because he knows he started early, and then holds his position because the ball gets snapped just as he is catching himself. How could this possibly "generate discussion?" This is as no-brainer as no-brainer gets. The crew simply missed it for what it was, but got lucky in that the result was the same. No insult to the crew. That happens to everyone from time to time. But for training purposes this is excruciatingly simple. The only discussion here is that the wing simply must get this as a dead-ball false start. End of story.

FST... easy

Agreed. Furthermore, even if the wing comes in late and then tells the R what he had, the 2 of them should agree it was really a dead ball false start and negate most anything that happened afterwards

Yeah, false start, blow and throw. Unsure why there is a question.
