Title: Free Kick by Team Scored Upon

Finally saw it the other night, although it was just a scrimmage between teams.  The team that was scored upon elected to free kick.  Good thing it wasn't a real game as I can imagine the crowd and PA announcer wondering what was going on!

Can you imaging all the names they would have been calling you.

Several years ago in a JV game after a score a first year official in his first game asked the just scored on coach if he wanted to kick. The coach looked at him and stared. The coach asked the other official and I what that was about. We explained that was in the rule book but he was probably the first coach asked the question. We got a good laugh on it. I told the new guy to remove that question from his on field coach talk.
