Watching the Michigan State and Wisconsin game last night, I noticed that #82 for Michigan State was not wearing a chin strap. This came to my attention when he got lit up and Gus Johnson went crazy about the hard hitting. I started looking at him and he did not have a chin strap, much less all 4 points buckled. I realize that we are not the fashion police and that the coaches say everyone is equiped according to rule, but with the emphasis on helmets coming off this year....why was this allowed? How far do we allow these violations to go?

I can understand not getting all worked up if a buckle is undone (just tell him to fix it when you get a chance), but no chin strap at all? That's no longer the fashion ploice, now it's a significant safety issue. No flag, just tell him to get out of here until he finds a chin strap.

Still looking for more but is this the hit you saw? Looks like he has a chin strap

I will not be surprised when we see new rules come out next year for helmets coming off like this. That kid had a better chance at keeping a ball cap on his head than he did his helmet.

That eye shield is awful dark to be clear.
-
Optical illusion caused in large part by his "doo rag" which is very dark and is behind the shield at the point the picture was taken.

:o LOL

What are you talking about? Looks like a properly fitted and secured helmet to me. LOL

I think #82 is just trying to make sure he doesn't get any helmet to helmet contact. Maybe he heard that that could cause a concussion.
