I have 3-4 pairs of white knickers that I'm never going to wear again (unless a wave of nostalgia captures my HS board or the CFO).
Anyone want them? Size 36. At least one pair was never worn. Other two in decent shape.
If they could be of use to someone, PM me and I could mail them to you.

Unfortunately, the State of Iowa still requires officials to wear the knickers unless we have foul conditions. hEaDbAnG I can not use your knickers as I do not wear a size 36. sNiCkErS

I have a pair of 38 knickers if anyone wants them.

I have 30s for any one who looks like this: ^good

I have a pair of 40s available.

name this movie quote:
"...these are 32's, and they're loose."
all kidding aside, I have 2 pair that will never be worn again...unless we have a retro week.

For the record, I would absolutely hate going back to knickers considering how much more comfortable the black pants are

answer:
"Stripes" (Bill Murray) circa +/-1982
it's when they were measuring him for his army duds.

The most memorable quote from that movie (for me, anyway) is John Candy: "I'll do it!" (After contemplating the pros and cons of whether to mud wrestle a couple of hot babes.)

And how much better I look in them. I hated the way I looked in knickers.
-
What if we bundled them all up and just shipped them to the Iowa state athletic association- kind of like a CARE package?
I did see a California crew wearing them on Prime Ticket several weeks ago.

I think we all did... tiphat:

hahahaha...this actually isn't a bad idea.
You could do it as a humanitarian air drop. When the Iowa guys saw the parachute, they'd all go running out for the pants.

I may actually do it. I feel bad about just tossing them. I've thought about giving them to softball players or maybe Goodwill could use them for costumes here at Halloween. If some guys in Iowa or Cali or Pa. (I hear some of them still wear them) I'd like someone to get some use out of them. New guys there just starting out could save a few $$ on the uniform.

They make people with short legs (me) look like Oompa Loompas. I'm glad to be rid of them.

The rumor around these parts is that the tide has shifted in Iowa as well and that knickers will be a thing of the past very soon as well. I wouldn't stock up on them in Iowa

I might be the last guy who still misses knickers. Many sports have striped shirts and a few have ball caps. Knickers were the one thing that was unique, that instantly distinguished us football officials from any other sport's.
I also just think the tight socks looked a little niftier. Many baseball fans agree: It's a shame nobody in MLB wears stirrups any more. They just let loose pants hang below their ankles. Now we football officials are doing the same kind of thing. The more we look like we're wearing warmup pants, the less official we look, I gotta say.
I also hate having to spend an extra $10-15 to get each pair of black pants hemmed.
No argument on the comfort, though! Or the colorfastness.

You need to watch more. There are plenty of players still wearing them with socks showing. ;)

Again with the short legged people, having to get knickers altered was A LOT more expensive, almost the cost of a set of knickers due to the elastic in the cuffs.

Colorfastness unless you got a bad pair from Honig's like I and a lot of others did. >:(

I (as a non-football referee) have two main issues with the black pants.
1) The completely gratuitous "suicide" strips. Unless you plan to be marching in step with someone, you don't need a strip down the side of your pants.
1) The utter lack of well-hemmed pants. It seems every official I see has pants on that are bunched up around his ankles. It looks like they can't bother to get them hemmed. And it's from the NFL down to HS.

Well that and us standing in the middle of a football field. LOL

Here in SD I see a lot of knickers yet.
It's about 50/50 from what I see of the crews on the news.
Until it starts getting cold, that is.
As a second year, I didn't even own a pair until I got called to sub in for a game. I found out on Thursday that I needed to go buy some. Luckily, I got a pair of hand-me-downs that fit. I'll keep them around just in case but I hope to never have to wear them again.

We changed over this year, and as far as I saw everyone in my association got pants. I am officiating the German youth all star tournament next week though, and just got a mail saying bring both. If someone shows up with just knickers we all have to wear them. I guess some other states haven't transitioned over so quickly.
