I think a player on the Green team learned a very valuable lesson.  I'll bet he won't do that in Super Bowl LXVI !!

Bet that kid plays basketball and is used to winning at the horn!

My point is (other than he needs to learn when the game is really over) - did he really fumble? I contest he tossed it to the ground -almost like a spike, and from the video it looks like it landed forward of the spot where he threw it.
That would make it an illegal forward pass - ball is dead.

NCAA: passing is throwing the ball, otherwise it would be fumbling. So, if you want to get technical, dropping is fumbling, using force (ie. throwing) is passing. It looks like the kid uses force in this case to throw the ball into the ground, so you could call it a pass.

Then again, this is very close and you probably should go with the when-in-doubts and rule it a backward pass anyway.

In general, I think these kinds of actions should be ruled fumbles instead of passes - there is no intent to pass the ball to a team mate.

You've got to be kidding me.

Interception, fumble, followed by multiple "illegal participation" penalties by green that should have been called ...  ^good

That's one heck of a piece of fly poop in the pepper.  I've got a fumble, and a lesson learned by green to fall down before you start to celebrate.

I was just putting it forward as the motion looked a little like a spike.

No way the HL sees that since he is 15 yds on the field.  haha

This is a fumble.  Punish stupidity whenever possible.
