Title: Flag free game
Post by: BNE-Ref on March 22, 2013, 01:42:22 AM
Has anyone ever had a flag free game?  By that, I mean the whole crew not throwing a single flag, not just you personally.

I was going back through old game reports yesterday, and the closest my crew has come is two - a horse collar tackle from me at R, and a DPI from SJ.

I don't think this game was flag-free, may have been a false start or two, but I remember when we got in the van to leave; I said "guys, do any of you remember anybody hollering anything at us tonight?"  Everyone agreed that we had worked as close to the most perfect game ever in the sense that there were few fouls and zero complaints.

...in the sense that there were few fouls and zero complaints.
Isn't it amazing how well we are perceived to officiate when they play well?

Never flag free, but one game with nothing except 1 false start.

I had one where we had 1 Free kick out of bounds so 1 flag

Yes, I have had a flag-free game when I was a HS referee in Louisville, KY.  Southern HS vs. Durrett HS (which is now closed) and the Southern QB was Phil Simms.

In 3 years I've never been apart of a crew with out at least 1 flag.
