When we were planning our wedding, I suggested to my wife that we should rent a local field, the officiant and wedding party party could all wear stripes, and the guests could throw flags instead of rice/birdseed.
There are a few schools admin in my association (I could've gotten the field cheap, or maybe free), I already have or could borrow the uniforms and flags.  It would've been much cheaper, and certainly memorable.

I was quickly told that my assistance in planning the wedding was no longer required, and that I should just go and pick the beer for the reception.
Mission Accomplished.

 LOL

Yeah, my now-wife wasn't a big fan of a football-official theme to our wedding, either.  Wonder why that was?

If the groom is the football official ^TD ^no ^good, that makes the bride the coach pi1eOn pi1eOn pi1eOn, we all know who wins all those arguments :bOW aWaRd nAnA. Groom as player and bride as cheerleader might be more acceptable  ;D!
