More on shoes
« on: October 14, 2016, 01:11:59 PM »
Looking for info on new shoes.  For almost my entire 30+ years, I have worn the SpotBilt OS95.  I like the sneaker like comfort and feel.  Even after they were discontinued, I would scour the internet and somehow manage to find another pair of size 9s.  It now appears that the well has run dry.

I have been looking for that same sneaker-like feel as the 95s.  The New Balance MU950 Turf Shoe (pics below) has me interested (it is actually marketed as a baseball umpiring shoe).  The cleat structure reminds me of the only other type of shoe that I have ever worn (an old converse style from the mid 80s).

So, anyone have any experience with these particular New Balance or have any other suggestions?  Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I have these shoes, and they're nice shoes - well made, quite light, easy to clean. But I find the heel drop to be too much for me, putting strain on my calfs. If you are ok with a flatter shoe, then this is a very good option. But if not, may want to look elsewhere or add in some orthotics.

I like those New Balances, and have had a few pair, but couldn't find them in a size large enough to fit my big old feet this year.

I got a pair of 3n2 for this season, and they're doing OK for me.

I use these shoes. They are great on artificial turf and natural turf as long as it's dry. No as good in for traction in the rain. I always get New Balance shoes at I can get the in 4E widths.
