Wow. I can’t express how flattered I am with your comments. Sure, I’d love that job. But, sadly, I ain’t in that mix.
Most likely McDaid or Defee. I know another guy that probably covets that job, but, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that he is neither in that mix. If you’ve known me long enough, you know who I am talking about. That would be a disaster. (No one currently directly active in NCAA football.)

I don't know Defee, but I would be surprised if McDaid would want it (I think he would be great at it...maybe I'll be surprised).  Plus, Shaw and Rogers were both "SEC guys" and I don't think they want a pattern to emerge.  Shaw wasn't supposed to get that job originally because they didn't want an SEC guy to follow another SEC guy, but some plans changed around the time Rogers retired.

I heard a rumor yesterday that Bill Lemonnier is retiring from ESPN and Shaw will be taking his spot as an on-air rules analyst.

No matter who it is, Elvis will keep them on their toes in clarity and reasoning.

WAY too much credit here. I just try to help us get correct understanding of the rules, so we can achieve maximum consistency.
