Denard Robinson "feed me gesture" Ohio State vs Michigan game
« on: November 28, 2011, 02:48:07 PM »
Just wondering if it is a talk to or should have been called an unsportsmanlike penalty. He did it several times after making good plays on the field. Can't find a video but as he is coming off the field he pretends to be shoveling food to his mouth from his hand under his chin.  Seems to meet the standard of calling undue attention to himself.

When I saw it live, I thought it inappropriate but didn't really think it deserved a flag.  Watching the replays, most of it seems to occur when he is on his sideline or very close to his sideline.  He's certainly not obviously taunting any of the opponents in the posted clips and I'm doubtful I'd even have eyes on him at that point.  Yes, it draws some attention, but I think that is magnified by the TV here and possibly barely noticed by the participants.

There was another game I was watching this weekend( can't remember which one) where after a TD a teammate simulating performing open chest surgery ( thats the only way I can describe it) on the scoring player. It was prolonged and definitely choreographed. No flag.

I'm one of the biggest assholes there is for flagging kids for "just having fun" but this doesn't make my flag flinger twitch in the slightest.

I have heard many of you say before:  "If he wants to celebrate, let him go back to his team box and celebrate."

That's what he did!  He didn't antagonize the other team, he went to his bench and had some little joke with his teammates away from the opponent.  While I have no idea what it means, it should not be the concern of the officials.  Leave it alone.

That was my thought. Why would anyone still be watching him, other than a TV camera?

I cant remember the game but i think what he was doing was "ripping his teams mates disguise off" to expose super man.

Agree, leave this alone plenty of other things to pick up.

I believe that was the LSU QB in their game with Arkansas this past weekend.  I did a quick search for a video but didn't find one...I'm sure there is one out there though.
