Late Hit or nothing?

Video is bad quality and I forgot to move the mouse arrow out of the way so there's a black spot in the middle of the screen…

Play is a punt. While the ball is in the air, returner signals fair catch.
Ball bounces on the ground twice, and while it bounces, returner still signals fair catch.
Then he kneels and recovers the kick
And then he gets blasted by defender

Call on the field was UNR for the late hit but some of the crew members dissagree with the call (gladly it wasn't overturned by the R).

1) I agree with the call, he was not blasted, but clearly a signal was given and the player obtained possesion on his knee.  Marginal contact, but the rule book does not say how hard he has to get hit for a foul to occurr.

2) Is that a goal post in the middle of the endzone?

This is not a fair catch as the ball has hit the ground before it is recovered. Thus, no KCI. You can argue that the kicking team player should know that the ball becomes dead the instant it is possessed due to the valid and invalid signals given, but in this case I wouldn't flag this type of contact, which is aimed at the ball, not the player.
